First day of school

First day of school for the boys was exciting.

Let’s start with Stinky.

Stinky is starting Pre-K. A government funded program that pays for your child to go to school for 3 hours a day. It is to prepare them for kindergarten. This is the first time he will be away from me for any period of time on a regular basis. The thing that is funny, I think that I am going to have a harder time with it then he is. My last baby is off to school. No more breast feeding, diaper changes, teaching to walk, crawl or even eat with a fork. EVER! Gone are the days of having an infant in the house. Babe can’t understand why I have been curled up in a ball on the floor, crying chanting, “This chapter is being closed, but, a new one is being written. This chapter is being closed, but, a new one is being written.” Moms understand. My little man is getting wings and getting ready to fly.

Trev

Trev is starting middle school. Morgan Fitzgerald Middle School to be exact. The 6th grade. Where has the time gone? He will be driving in 3 years. *gasp*. This is a big challenge for him. He has 7 teachers instead of 2. He no longer wears uniforms. For the first time he is riding the bus. THE BUS! I watched him walk to the bus stop the first day and took a picture. With my long lenses so he wouldn’t know, of course. Cheesy is an understatement. He also has a new thing called a block schedule. I would explain it to you but I don’t even understand it my self. Something about rotating classes so that the last period teachers get the students first period on some days. It makes sense, but is hard to follow. 123456 one day 712345 the next and then some other order that I can’t remember. It’s called block scheduling. He is making that transition between boy and teen. Which I have heard is horrible. If karma is true I will be in for a real ride. Sorry mom.

All in all the first day was good. Watching my wonderful boys go off into the world with the knowledge that Babe and I have given them was very satisfying. I know they will do well. I am proud.

Now I will spend the rest of my day wondering what to do with myself.

Maybe I should just curl back up into my little ball and wait for school to get out.

On a scrapbooking note... I used Brandy Designs kit called A Class Act. You can pick it up here. I also used Traci Reed's Bad Sewing Machine III which you can get here and Erica Zane's Border Dates, which I can't remember where I got it from. Sorry. Oh yeah, one more I used Julie Marie easy photo mask and got that here.
