Oh those eyes

This is my latest page. Look at those eyes. Your heart is melting right now isn't it? I get to look as these babies every day. Have you really ever looked into your kids eyes or a loved one if you have no kids. Not just look. I mean really LOOK. Are the eyes really just one color? Do they have a dark rim around them? Are they blue or blue gray? Light brown or dark brown? Do they tell a story? Can you see joy or pain? Eyes say so much about people.

On a scrapbooking tip I used Brandy Designs Fun Lovin Kit. I think this is one of my favorite layouts. You can pick it up here. Don't wait to much longer, because right now, Until January 31st, it is on sale for 30% off in celebration of Brandy Designs 1 year Design-iversary. No special coupon code. No jumping through hoops. Just click the link and get it.

DO IT KNOW!

So many to choose from my brain hurts

Babe and I have decided that our next home project is going to be painting the outside of our house. This has presented me with a challenge. WHAT COLOR DO I PAINT MY HOUSE!!!

I never thought this would be so difficult. I have purchased so many test samples that if I mixed them all together I could paint my bedroom. It wouldn't be very pretty but I could do it.

I first thought browns. Light brown. with hunter green trim. Babe doesn't like it. He wants to paint it gray. Industrial gray. That is a negative. I like green. My neighbors house is green. Then I thought yellow with white trim and a black door. Then I happened to be talking to my other neighbor about painting the house and before I could the word yellow came out of my mouth she says, "Just to let you know that I am going to paint my house yellow in the next year. Just so you know." Tons of four letter words come to mind right now. I can't win for losing. So Babe says "If we get it on our house first what is she going to do about it?" Oh my. I don't want to be on the news for having a 3 year long feud involving eggs and toilet paper.

So this is were I stand.

Pretty isn't it. I'm at a lost. I am open for any suggestions. I even asked Stinky to pick out the color he likes.

Maybe I should consult a magic eight ball or put the colors in a hat.

What ever happens I will be sure and post the results.

Thank you and Good night.

Bigger isn't always Better

The other day Stinky and I went to work with Babe. He was doing an estimate on an older gentleman's back yard. While we were there Stinky noticed a giant piece of fruit hanging from one of the trees. Being the inquisitive little stinker he is he asked the man what it was. The man explained to him that it was a grapefruit. I have seen plenty of grapefruit in my day and none of them looked like this. It was huge. The man explained that it was not good to eat but great for decoration. He said that it was hollow inside. Okay now he has peeked my interest. A hollow grapefruit? I guess he saw how intrigued Stinky was by this grapefruit and decided to pick it and give it to him. I hit the jack pot. I get to take this beast home, cut it open and see what it was all about. Simple minds, simple pleasures.

This is the grapefruit.

I think I will call him Vitus. He looks like a Vitus to me. Oh, and don't mind the fat guy in the hula skirt in the background.

This is the inside of the grapefruit. Prepare to be amazed. Again, simple minds, simple pleasures.

Pretty amazing isn't it. I have never seen anything like this in my life. I don't even know what to say. I think for the first time in my life I am speechless.

The one thing that I am never speechless about it scrapbooking. Just wanted to remind you to go over to Polka Dot Plum for the new releases today. Brandy has a really cute one. Don't miss out.

Thank you and Good night.

Inspiration

We ate dinner over at my oldest sisters house last night to celebrate my niece's 4th Birthday. Happy Birthday Brookie Cookie.

While we were waiting for the pizza to arrive we were talking about documenting our kids lives. What it will be like looking back in 20 years at all the photos we have taken. Wondering if our feeble minds will be able to remember anything at all. Would we remember the first report card, the first day at baseball, the busted eye or the style of cloths they wore. I explained to her that is why I scrapbook. Obsessively.

Even though I already love scrapbooking, I have a new perspective of it. I appreciate it even more then just a hobby. I know now that when my kids have grown and left me behind in my wheel chair, that I have decorated with glittery pink flames of course, I can open a scrapbook and be brought back to any given time and remember. To me that is priceless. I know not every one understands why or how I can sit in front of the computer for hours and scrapbook. I don't expect them to. For me it is my journal. It gives me the comfort of knowing  that me and my wheel chair will have lots of memories to share and if Babe is nice enough and changes my diaper when needed,  I will share them with him too.

I was inspired today by Ali Edward. Click here and check out her web site. You might find yourself starting something new and note worthy.

Thank you and Good night.

Loved

I did this page of Trev a little while ago. I think this is one of my favorites. I took this shot at the beach in 2008. I can't believe that he is already 12. He went from wanting to be with mommy all the time, to being in his room with the door shut watching television and listening to his ipod. Time flies.

On the digital tip I used New England Summer sample kit by Danielle Engebreston.

Also, Don't forget to go over to Brandy Designs and check out my Rise and Shine Monday Spotlight post.

You will be inspired.

Thank you and Good night!
