Oh Sweet Friday

Today is my mother in laws birthday. She is turning 35. Again. Happy Birthday Mom.

To celebrate I want to share with you one of my favorite martini recipes.

Lemon Drop Martini

2 oz of Vodka
1/2 oz Triple Sec
1/2 oz lemon juice
1 small wedge of lemon
1 tsp sugar
ice

Pour Vodka, Triple Sec and lemon juice into a cocktail shaker. Add ice and sugar. Shake. Make sure you shake for a while so the sugar dissolves. Pour into a Martini glass. Garnish with a twist of lemon.

This my friends is the perfect drink to celebrate a birthday. Even if it is not yours. So go make your self a Lemon Drop Martini. Raise your glass and toast my wonderful mother n law. Then take your Martini and go unwind in the hot tub. Or if you don't have a hot tub, in front of the television will do. As a matter of fact I think you can enjoy this just about any where, while doing just about anything. (insert own imagination here)

Let's hope it stays this way

Trev is doing good in school. I was worried in the beginning. He had a rough time transitioning from elementary school to middle school. We made it through it and now he is doing fine.Notice I said "we". It was hard for me too. I was dealing with the typical "My baby is going into middle school, I can't believe how time flies, I'm so old, lord help me" breakdown.

My sister in law told me an awesome story on Thanksgiving. It was about one of her friends with a 12 year old calling her mother in distress about her son. The mother told her "No one loves a 12 year old boy but his mother". The next year her friend called her mother again, in distress, and the mother said "No on loves a 13 year old boy but his mother." I wish you could her the long southern draw she used when telling the story. It was classic. Roll Tide!

He just got his 3rd semester report card and I thought I would share.

I am defiantly a proud mama.

Things I'm Digging

I'm not much of a Tom Cruise fan. Actually I really can't stand him. I know I know, everybody loves them some Tom. Me, not so much. I also don't like ice cream. I'm just saying.

When I saw this the other day I about died. Nothing like a good laugh at Tom Cruise's expense.

Sicky Sickersons

My boys are sick. Really sick. They have it coming out of both ends. So I would like to take this time to apologize for my absents for the next few days. I will get back on track soon. Cross my heart and hope to die, stick a thousand sporks through my eyes.

This is Babe 3 days old. Aww. He was adorable. Chunky cheeks and all. This is the day my best friend was born.  It is hard to believe that he will be 3o this year. I know my in law are reading this right now and saying "Don't remind me." Sorry guys. You did a good job raising that boy of yours.

On the digital tip the kit I used is from Brandy Designs. It is called Olaf. I can't get enough of her stuff. I truly love it. It is so easy to make things work using her kits. Honestly.
